G.yung 'brug: Danba Tibetan Culture Collection
The World Oral Literature Project is pleased to host the Danba Tibetan Collection, deposited by G.yung 'brug. This collection is based on G.yung 'brug's work with his own Rgysa bzang (Jizong) Tibetan Village located in Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province, PR China from 2008-2010. The material includes Bon Offering Chanting, traditional Tibetan dancing, wedding speeches, folktales, and folk songs. Ge tes zla bo (Mchas ba bkra shis; b.~1945) told G.Yung ‘brug (b.1985) this story in 2010. Successful businessman, Nor bu bzang po, is urged by his sister to not leave home to do business because she had noticed that a servant wanted to kill Nor bu bzang po. Finally, Nor bu bzang po and his sister use a magic container to return home and recover their property.
